The amazing NowThis media, who is much of the reason why we have been so successful on Kickstarter today by reaching such a big target audience, put together an AWESOME live video of them using a few utensils we sent out to them. We are not only to our goal 100% funded but we are over 500% FUNDED!!! I cannot thank each and every one of you ENOUGH for helping us in our mission to rid the world of plastic waste.
We can do this! We can chase plastic out of our food supply! A few new updates:
- Our facility in India is going to be moving to a bigger building to be able to produce more to keep in line with our demands.
We will need to hire more WOMEN to keep our production going. YEAY! This means that the lives of not only the women will be impacted
but their DAUGHTERS lives will be transformed as well. They will now be able to attend school and stop the cycle of poverty and oppression that they were born into.
- We would LOVE to be able to create and offer more of our utensils. We are offering a STRETCH goal of $300k to be able to produce and offer chopsticks and forks in our next production run and set up production here in the States to cut the cost for fulfilling N. American orders. (To clarify, this is only for North American orders. Our production center in India is still our main production center)
- We have also begun looking at even better packaging methods for our spoons just as innovative as our products. The water soluble packaging provides resistance to humidity but still be dissolved and disappear in water.
- VOLUMES, VOLUMES, AND MORE VOLUMES
We’re at 1.45 MILLION TOTAL SPOONS SOLD. And we CANNOT thank you all enough. If we hit 3 MILLION, our production costs go down FURTHER. Please help us spread the word, make sure that any video you send includes the Kickstarter campaign. 65 million plus viewed the film about our products and how they can end plastic cutlery from the world's landfill but only a tiny segment ever knew we have a Kickstarter. If they even contributed 1 dollar each we could have replicated facilities around the world, hiring women and making plastic ware a thing of the past! The more we produce, the more women we can employ, the more we will be able to chase plastic out of our lives forever.

Hi everyone,
We are SOOO excited about our campaign and thrilled with all the interest we've gotten from all of you amazing backers. Right now, I am working on putting together a survey to collect all the information I would need to get everyone their spoons, in their choice of flavors of course. The flavors will be whatever was listed in the background. We are just getting a few things together, including information about expediting everything. We are only allowed to send surveys once, so we will get back to you all by the end of the day (Or beginning of the next day for our friends on the Eastern hemisphere ;) )
Thank you all again for all your amazing support. I will be responding to every message throughout the day.
To anyone who wasn't able to back us in time, we will have an ordering portal up and running soon, so no worries! Currently, bakeys.com is tailored only for shipping within India and is not accepting orders right now, but we will have an updated order portal for all those outside of India.

Hello all,
We've reached 3 million spoons, WOW! We are incredibly grateful to each and every individual that has contributed to the Kickstarter. The response to our campaign has been truly amazing exceeding our estimated expectations. As a result, we are currently working a production plan to increase throughput to satisfy the increased demand. Thanks again for your continued support, as this is enabling my team work through this.
It has also come to my attention that there are a few contributors who have requested more verification regarding the authenticity of this campaign. I would like to address this concern with a video from Narayana Peesapaty, the founder of Bakeys:
Deliver of goods update:
Our tentative goal in the beginning was to ship the orders by the end of April. Unfortunately our current orders, which total approximately 3.5 million spoons, cannot all be produced within that time frame. Our current tentative plan fulfill the orders in a timely manner is as follows:
1) We will begin shipping from India by sea to the USA at the end of May.
2) This first boat would arrive around late June, which would enable shipping to contributors around June time frame.
3) The next shipment to the USA from India would be shipped after that and delivered by July time frame.
In the initial stages of our campaign, prior to achieving the $100,000, we had made commitments to fulfill a few small orders. We are doing our best to keep these commitments and evaluating options such as express shipment if they would otherwise not make it in time. We are also open to express shipment requests from any backers that have not given us a set date as of yet. This is a little bit more expensive than what we've charged on our campaign, as our goal throughout has been to consolidate shipping to make our products affordable. If you are interested in this, please reach out to us via message.
At the same time, we are exploring alternative production methods such as setting up a facilities in the United States for the purpose of satisfying this market.
We greatly appreciate your patience with us as we work on fulfilling these orders. Bakeys products are currently only available in India. This Kickstarter campaign was constructed with the goals of decreasing our distribution costs whilst also making this product available to the entire world. At this time, anyone ordering through Bakeys will not be able to do so until Mid-November, and we are diligently working with Bakeys such that all our backers will be the first to get ahold of them!
Also, to anyone who has messaged me and has not receive a response, please contact me again. We've received a lot of messages and may not have always been able to get to them, so apologies for the delay.
Lastly, to everyone who is interested in ordering more even after this campaign, thank you so much! We are working on an order portal you all can go through to order once we are all set up.
